Since the beginning of time slavery and racism has always been an issue for Black people. The question is why though? Why does racism even exist? Why can’t all races get along and love each other for who we are. There has always been a stereotype against Black people which I feel is the main reason people of other races have so much hate towards African Americans. White people feel they have more power over African Americans because they’ve gotten away with heinous crimes against Blacks because of who they know or how much money they have in their bank accounts. My theory is that white people fear black people because they know how much power we are capable of having. Not to mention the justice system fails us every time, this country was built upon oppression and hate.
White people have always had the upper hand against Black people, they run in packs antagonizing African Americans wishing we disappeared from earth. There have been numerous incidents where a black person has been murdered by a white person and the situation is just swept under the rug. On the other hand if a black person was to murder a white person they would most likely get the worst punishment available. The system is so terrible they would rather lock us up over accusations for life instead of letting us live.
The situation at the Black Lives Matter protest Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17 year old white male attacked and killed 2 protestors but all the charges were dropped and he was set free. A heinous crime involving innocent people and there was no justice served is what’s wrong with America today. However Chrystul Kizer a 17 year old black female allegedly murdered Randall Phillip Volar III, he raped her and was a sex trafficker. Chrystul Kizer is now facing life in prison for a crime that she should be acquitted of. She was the victim, where is her justice? These two situations are prime examples of how the justice system handles Black and White crimes. These similar situations have been happening almost everyday in America and no one is standing up for these people who were falsely accused.
Police officers are also killing black people everyday and getting away with it. They are supposed to protect and serve but instead they shoot us down like dogs with no hesitation. In the movie “The hate u give,” shows viewers real life situations that happen to black males on a day to day basis. The movie is based on a black male named Khalil being shot and killed by a white police officer because the officer thought Khalil was reaching for a gun but it was a hairbrush. This movie opened my eyes and hopefully others to the horrors that our black males face while in the hands of white policemen.
America’s justice system needs to be revised and equal for all races, not just white people. African Americans have so much built us frustration and trauma because no one cares about our lives, justice is rarely served for Black people because of the hate that this country was built upon. Racial injustice in America is happening everywhere and needs to be stopped, Black people deserve to be treated equally because of everything we've been put through.
